Our Sulfate Free Rice Shampoo Bar is an environmentally friendly alternative to conventional liquid shampoo, cutting down significantly on packaging waste. Sulfate free and packed with natural rice bran oil & hydrolyzed rice protein, it gently cleanses hair to leave it feeling soft, shiny & revitalized, with a fresh aroma.
It comes in a mini bamboo steamer basket that you can store your bar in when not in use to keep it dry and help it last longer.

Shampoo Bar Directions for Use
Wet hair. Apply the bar directly to your hair, a few swipes should do, it's concentrated! Put down the bar and work the lather into your hair and scalp. Rinse.

Your bar will last longer if kept dry when not in use.
The Surfactants
Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate - derived from coconut oil, mild, non-irritating, creates lather. Sodium lauryl sulfoacetate - derived from natural plant sources and is completely free of all sulfates, produces a rich foam without irritation. Cocamidopropyl Betaine - derived from raw coconut oil, lathers well in cold water, gentle and used for "no tears" formulas.
The Preservatives
We use a broad spectrum antimicrobial preservative called Liquid Germal Plus. This is a water soluble preservative that is very effective at preventing the growth of bacteria, molds, fungus, yeasts and commonly found organisms. The usage rate is 0.1-0.5% of the product weight. It is paraben free. Liquid Germal Plus is made of Propylene Glycol, Diazolidinyl Urea, Iodopropynyl Butylcarbamate
Protein & Oil
We used Hydrolyzed Rice Protein extracted from sustainable, non-GMO rice bran. It is naturally gluten free. This is rich is amino acids and is water soluble so it can be absorbed by your hair. Hydrolyzed Rice Protein has been shown to significantly increase total hair volume by up to 32%. It also adds natural shine and highlights to the hair. Rice Bran Oil is said to repair dryness, damage, and brittleness, without leaving a heavy, greasy residue. It is also gluten free.

Surfactants
Surfactant means surface active agent. They stir up activity on the surface to help trap dirt and remove it. They are the main component of cleaning formulas.

Preservatives
Preservatives are not needed in all cosmetic products, but the absolutely are necessary in some. There is no such thing as a "natural" preservative. This shampoo bar requires a preservative due to the ingredient list, whereas our other bars do not.

Protein & Oil
Using oil in shampoo bars helps moisturize your hair and scalp. Proteins can strengthen, add shine and body to your hair. Bottled shampoos are mostly water, with less of these ingredients.
